Stations move between satellites, encrypt, or close. Search the channel on a satellite forum — someone has usually noticed first. This is by far the most common cause of a single missing channel.<\/p>\n

Broadcasters move channels to a new transponder. Your old channel list still points at the dead frequency. Run a new blind or network scan.<\/p>\n
If all<\/em> horizontal or all<\/em> high-band channels have disappeared, the LNB's corresponding side is failing. See the LNB troubleshooting guide.<\/p>\n If you have multiple satellites, a DiSEqC port number mismatch means one whole satellite “disappears”. Check the receiver's DiSEqC settings.<\/p>\n Receiver channel lists occasionally corrupt. Delete the channel list and rescan.<\/p>\n A channel that was free-to-air may have gone encrypted. Without a valid card\/subscription, you will see “scrambled” or a black screen.<\/p>\n Missing channels are rarely a dish problem. Think like a detective: which group vanished?
