The electronic programme guide is broadcast alongside the channels. If your list is out of date, or the receiver has cached stale data, the guide shows old or wrong programmes. Some receivers mix up channels from different satellites with similar numbers.<\/p>\n
A new scan rebuilds the list from the current transponders, which removes dead entries.<\/p>\n
Most receivers have an option to clear EPG data. Clear it, leave the box on a channel for an hour, and the guide repopulates.<\/p>\n
If the same channel appears twice with different numbers, delete the one that does not work. Channel editor apps make this fast.<\/p>\n
EPG data can take hours to download, especially after a reset. Leave the box on overnight with a decent signal.<\/p>\n
Run a network scan rather than a blind scan. Blind scans pick up every frequency, including obsolete ones, and populate ghost entries.<\/p>\n
If the EPG is wrong on every channel and the receiver is sluggish, a firmware update or factory reset may be needed. If only one channel is wrong, the broadcaster is at fault.<\/p>\n
