Before you buy a new remote, work through the simple causes.<\/p>\n<h2>Step 1: Check the Obvious<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Are the remote batteries fresh and in the right way round?<\/li>\n<li>Is there an obstacle between the remote and the box?<\/li>\n<li>Does the front of the receiver have a bright LED or sunlight shining on it?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 2: Check the Remote Emitter<\/h2>\n<p>Point the remote at a phone camera and press a button. You should see a purple\/white flash on the camera screen.
