You have just plugged in your new satellite receiver. The first-time setup wizard looks overwhelming, but the essential steps are simple. Here is how to get from box-in-box to watching channels.<\/p>\n

Physical Connections First<\/h2>\n

  1. Connect the LNB cable from the dish to the receiver's “LNB IN” socket.<\/li>\n
  2. Connect the receiver to the TV with an HDMI cable.<\/li>\n
  3. Plug in the power and switch on both.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Run the Setup Wizard<\/h2>\n

    Most receivers launch a wizard on first boot. Choose your language, country and timezone. These set the EPG and default channel ordering.<\/p>\n

    Configure the LNB<\/h2>\n

    In the antenna menu, set:<\/p>\n

    • LNB power: on.<\/li>\n
    • LNB type: universal.<\/li>\n
    • 13\/18 V and 22 kHz: auto.<\/li>\n
    • DiSEqC: off unless you have a switch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Select Your Satellite<\/h2>\n

      Pick the satellite your dish points at (e.g. Astra 19.2°E) from the list. If your satellite is not listed, add it manually with its orbital position.<\/p>\n

      Run a Scan<\/h2>\n

      Choose “blind scan” or “network scan” and let the receiver find every channel on that satellite. Network scan is cleaner; blind scan catches everything but may include ghost entries.<\/p>\n

      Check the Result<\/h2>\n

      Once the scan finishes, flip through a few channels. If they all work, the setup is done. If you see “no signal”, go back and check the LNB settings and the dish alignment.<\/p>\n

      Finish Up<\/h2>\n

      Set your favourites, parental controls and audio preferences. You are ready to watch.<\/p>\n
