Understand why numbers change
Broadcasters transmit logical channel numbers that the tuner reads during the service scan. Some software applies these numbers automatically, while others assign sequential numbers. A mismatch between broadcast LCN and software assignment creates confusion.

Delete and rescan
Delete the current channel list and run a fresh scan. During the scan, note whether the software offers an LCN option. Enable it if available and check whether the resulting channel numbers match your expectation.
Manually reassign numbers
Most applications allow drag-and-drop reordering or manual number assignment in the channel editor. Select each channel and enter the correct number. This overrides both broadcast LCN and the automatic assignment order.
Export and import with correct order
Export the cleaned channel list to a file, edit the numbering in a text editor if the format supports it, and reimport. Some applications preserve the imported order when reloaded, which is faster than remapping each channel individually.
Lock important channels
After setting the correct order, lock or hide channels that you do not want to appear in the guide. This prevents a future scan from resetting your carefully organized numbering scheme.
