Why keyboard shortcuts matter
Satellite TV software runs on a computer, which means a keyboard and mouse are always available. Navigating menus with the mouse is slow compared to a well-placed hotkey. When you are watching live TV, speed matters.
Common universal shortcuts
- Space / P: Play / Pause live TV
- F / R: Full screen / Record
- 1–9: Jump to channel preset
- Left / Right: Channel up / down
- M: Mute
- S: Open scheduler
- E: Open EPG
- Escape: Return to live TV
Custom hotkey configuration
Open Settings, navigate to Hotkeys or Keyboard, and assign your preferred keys. Choose combinations that do not conflict with your operating system or other applications. Keep a printed reference handy for the first week.
Mouse tricks that save time
- Double-click a channel in the list to switch instantly
- Middle-click a recording to play it without opening the library
- Right-click the taskbar icon for quick tuner status
- Drag the channel list to resize columns
Practice before you need it
Load the application, open the channel list, and spend five minutes trying shortcuts during a quiet evening. By the time a recording conflict arises or a channel needs changing quickly, the movements will already be automatic.
