Before migrating
Note the current software version, driver version, and all tuner hardware models. Create backups of the application data folder, channel database, recording schedule, and EPG cache. Keep these backups on a drive that will not be wiped during the new computer setup.
Install tuner drivers on the new computer
Install the same driver version that worked on the old computer. Download from the official manufacturer site and test that the tuner is detected and functional before installing the TV application.
Install the TV application
Install the same version of the satellite TV software that was used previously. Do not upgrade to a newer version during migration because this can change the data format and make backups incompatible. After confirming everything works, upgrade to the latest version.
Restore application data
Copy the backed-up application data folder to the new computer, placing it in the correct location. Most applications store data in the user AppData folder. Do not restore a backup from a newer application version into an older installation.
Verify functionality
Open the application and confirm that all channels are present and that signal quality matches the previous computer. Verify that scheduled recordings are intact and that the EPG loads correctly. Test a recording before relying on the system for daily use.
